As a self-confessed movie fanatic, I was delighted to produce a logo for the inaugural Loch Ness Film Festival. The festival director is a friend of the studio and I’m very proud to see the event grow into an annual fixture in the City of Inverness’ event calendar.
The ’lightbulb moment’ happened early on with this logo project. Essentially the idea behind this logo was to somehow create a Nessie using easily identifiable film components, in this case film reel and a clapperboard. The logo is not only an a symbol for the festival but has also raised a lot of money through merchandise.
I’m a huge football fan so I’m delighted that Suit Suit Studio are on board as East Kilbride FC’s designer.
I produce East Kilbride’s match programmes for every home game and I also occasionally design content for social media. Recently I produced a match programme for East Kilbride’s Scottish Cup last 16 match against BSC Glasgow, very much a career highlight.
In 2018 I was asked to create a logo for a new health and fitness event in Glasgow. Almost immediately I sketched up ideas that incorporated a heart rate graphic into the festival name.
My client was delighted with the result and I subsequently created artwork for outdoor advertising and the event website.
Since the inaugural festival I have continued to work with the organiser on subsequent events.
In 2019 Cumbernauld Theatre asked me to produce posters and digital artwork for their production of The Crucible. Using a fantastic photo of one of the cast members I put together an eye-catching poster that was distributed throughout Cumbernauld and the surrounding area.
Friend and supporter of the studio Thomas Simpson asked Suit Suit Studio to produce a cover design for his debut horror novella. You can buy the novel or download it at Amazon.
Suit Suit Studio designed a logo and a website for the New Life Football Academy; a football project in Ghana.
A poster for outdoor advertising and digital assets was produced for Beacon Theatre’s ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ production. The posters were distributed in cities throughout Central Scotland where the majority of audience members live.
As a big fan of the film I was delighted to be involved in this project and almost immediately I decided to base the design around the microphone and halo alongside a large title displayed in Art Deco typography.

My first job under the name Suit Suit Studio was to create a logo and various marketing materials for a new folk and roots festival at The Beacon.
The logo itself is in the shape of a guitar but it also loosely resembles the coastline to the West of Glasgow where the festival took place.
Glasgow Music is one of the service areas of Glasgow Life and they produce a quarterly listings brochure for all events taking place at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, City Halls and Old Fruitmarket venues.
I designed this brochure every three months as part of my contract with Glasgow Life and I would also occasionally design secondary content for their website and social media platforms.
Glasgow based musician and DJ Stuart McNiven wanted a new logo designed for his music publishing company Blue Knight.
Much like the Loch Ness logo, my aim was to combine music components with a knight - in this case a graphic equaliser forming part of the knight’s helmet. This ties in very well with Stuart’s music endeavours.
Loch Lomond Shores is a lochside mall with upscale boutiques and a department store, plus cafes and kids’ play area. LLS got in touch to request some artwork to promote the outlet.
My first marketing campaign included an eight page leaflet plus map as well as a coupon card showing the many deals on offer from the retailers.
I also worked with the outlet to create promotional artwork for children’s activities and individual campaigns from the retailers based at the site.

When tasked with creating the label’s logo I had two strong ideas that I wanted to pursue – a vinyl record cut in half depicting a sunrise and paint splashes from a warm colour palette.

The festival got in touch in 2018 to promote their summer festival in The Highlands. A typographical logo was requested and this was created using a bright and colourful palette.

The city of Glasgow was the host of the 20th edition of the LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships.
Suit Suit Studio was asked to produce a design for the Championships which would be included in outdoor materials and online. We were provided with great photography of some of the participants as well as Glasgow itself so we focused the design around the shots.
Active Govan was established to support sports clubs and physical activity providers within the local Govan area to work together to provide opportunities for people to stay or become active within their community.
Active Govan asked Suit Suit Studio to design a logo to promote this initiative to the local community.
On receiving the brief, the idea that stood out was to make the letter A shaped like a heart beat and to extend this along the entire logo.
One of the proudest achievements for Suit Suit Studio is its involvement in Glasgow winning the title of European Capital of Sport in 2023. Suit Suit Studio was initially asked to design a logo for the bid and then to work on the bid document itself.

The 2020 LGT World Men's Curling Championship was scheduled to be held from March 28 to April 5 at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.
Suit Suit Studio produced a design for this event which was displayed on posters and social media. On the design itself I used the LGT curling logo as a device to contain some of the great photography supplied by the marketing team. The typeface used is the lovely Geogrotesque which has a nice rounded finish.

A family run company running for over 70 years, Global Events & Attractions (GEA) has grown over the years to become a fundamental part of many major events not just in the UK but worldwide.
GEA asked Suit Suit Studio to design a new logo for the company and they were very specific on what the logo should look like which should essentially be a globe inside a ferris wheel.
MJM Nutrition is the business name of certified nutritionist and health & fitness blogger J.McPhail.
A text-based logo was requested on the brief so I done some research into other nutrition-based logos to get a sense of the typography commonly used.
Classical Soundwaves is an initiative aimed at promoting classical music performance and education to young children.
